Technical Skills & Engineering Approach

My engineering skill set encompasses a blend of analytical problem-solving, programming, and computer-aided design. I have developed proficiency in MATLAB and Python for data analysis and engineering simulations, allowing me to model and optimize complex systems.

Additionally, I am skilled in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Onshape, which I have used to design and prototype mechanical components. My experience with Microsoft Office Suite supports effective documentation, data management, and reporting.

Whether I’m analyzing datasets, refining CAD models, or troubleshooting design issues, I approach challenges with a methodical and results-driven mindset.

Internship Experience & Key Takeaways

My internships at AGS Automotive Systems and Parts Apart have provided me with hands-on experience in both manufacturing engineering and product design.

At AGS, I focused on optimizing production processes, improving efficiency by 15%, and gaining a deep understanding of how design decisions impact large-scale manufacturing.

At Parts Apart, I was immersed in the full product development cycle, from market research to prototyping, refining CAD models, and collaborating closely with stakeholders.

Together, these experiences have strengthened my ability to bridge design and real-world application, balance innovation with feasibility, and work within cross-functional teams to develop practical engineering solutions.

University & Personal Projects

Beyond my professional experience, I have engaged in hands-on projects that further developed my engineering skill set. In the Engineering Strategies and Practice II course at the University of Toronto, I collaborated with a team to develop a functional prototype for a real-world client, ensuring clear documentation and effective communication throughout the design process.

Additionally, I have applied my skills to personal projects such as designing and building a miniature pneumatic engine, crafting custom wooden furniture, and contributing to Formula SAE.

These experiences reinforce my passion for engineering and my ability to turn theoretical knowledge into practical, innovative solutions.

Collaborative Projects

Robotic Arm for Rover - MIE301

We reimagined a sample-collecting robotic arm for Io, Jupiter’s most volcanic moon, shifting from a bulky land-based rover to a lightweight, drone-mounted mechanism.

Printed Circuit Board - MIE346

Developed and fabricated a PCB-based power supply to scale and filter a low-voltage analog signal using op-amps and low-pass filters.

Google Home Housing - MIE315

Consulted on replacing plastic housings with wood for Google Home speakers, evaluating cost, sustainability, and social responsibility.

Dissections - MIE243

Hands-on mechanical reverse engineering project — taking apart devices, studying their components, and modeling them in SolidWorks.

Pick and Place CNC Machine – MIE243

Designed a desktop CNC machine to automate PCB component placement — emphasizing accuracy, modularity, and affordability.

Experimental Design Device – APS112

Developed a hands-on two-variable device for the Six Sigma Green Belt course to help students learn DMAIC through physical experimentation.

Personal Projects

Coffee Table

One of my earliest builds — a woodworking project from high school where I learned to take raw lumber and shape it into something functional and polished.

Storage/Jewelry Box

A high school woodworking project that taught me the value of precision and patience while fitting every piece together perfectly.

Short Story

An original short story I wrote and published as an EPUB for a creative writing scholarship submission.

Pneumatic Engine – George Brown College

My first metal machining project, completed during a night course outside U of T. It taught me the fundamentals of working with metal and precision tooling.

Birdhouse

My first construction project, built during freshman year of high school. It’s still hanging in my backyard today.

CO₂ Gas Car

My first ever project — a small racing car powered by a CO₂ canister. It introduced me to aerodynamics and how design choices affect speed.

About Me

My Journey

Currently, I am a student at the University of Toronto pursuing a Bachelor's of Applied Science and Engineering through the Mechanical Engineering program. My time within the program has allowed me to develop various skills that will aid me in engineering-related careers. I have also obtained plenty of relevant experience working with others through volunteering and high school involvement. I would love to make new connections, and gain more experience in the field I am pursuing.

Focus Areas

I am pursuing the Mechatronics and Manufacturing streams within Mechanical Engineering. My work with SolidWorks and construction clearly gives me valuable insight into what these two paths may look like. My work in Engineering Strategies and Practice taught me a lot about documentation while my part-time work at Dairy Queen gave me a glimpse into industry and business, which is useful in my pursuit of a business minor.

Creative Pursuits

Outside of my engineering-related experience, I have a love for photography, and it is one of my favourite creative outlets. Throughout this portfolio, you can see works from both parts of my world, my best photos and my best projects. I also enjoy creative writing, cinematography, and design. I have shared three of my favourite pieces below.
